He is currently the Head of the Haematology Clinic at Hospital da Polícia Militar and part of the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) team at Hospital Luxemburgo, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. I graduated in Medicine in 2004 and, in 2007, undertook an observership programme at the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the University of Minnesota, USA. In 2010, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of UFMG, one of the main public universities in Brazil, where, in 2012, I gained a Master´s Degree in Health Sciences - Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine after studying biomarkers in febrile neutropenia. From 2014 to 2015, I practised both patient assistance and research at the “Unité de Greffe et de Maladies du Sang du Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Régional de Lille”, in France, and have ever since been increasingly involved in research, particularly on chronic myeloid leukaemia and HSCT. In 2017, while undertaking the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research programme (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health), I received a Clinical Research Scholar Award. Since 2019, I have been a Teaching Assistant of the programme, for which I received an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award in 2019 and 2020.
