Juei-chao Chen is a professor of Department of Statistics and Information Science, Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan. Born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, he earned his M.Sc. degree from National Central University, Chungli, Taiwan, and Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. Before joining the Department of Statistics and Information Science in Fu Jen Catholic University, Professor Chen was a faculty member in Department of Statistics, Feng Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan. He also an adjunct professor, Graduate Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chang Gung University, Taoyuan, Taiwan. Prof. Chen taught short courses in statistical methods at Regional Civil Service Development Institute, Central Personal Administration, Taiwan, Joint Commission of Taiwan, several large hospitals and companies in Taiwan. Prof. Chen has also published more than 40 papers in the area of Statistics, Operation Research, and Chinese medicine. He also holds two U.S. patents, one of which is an algorithm to compute Corrected Sums of Squares of a data set. His research has been funded by the National Science Council, Taiwan, Central Bank of Taiwan and Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Taiwan. Furthermore, he has been a consultant for Fiscal Information Agency, Ministry of Finance, Taiwan and several companies in the field of sampling, statistical methods and marking research.
